As previously covered here, 3 has been embarking on a large scale improvement scheme to keep their network standards as high as possible across the UK. 3 currently has the largest 3G Network (as confirmed by Ofcom). This improvement work will make their network bigger, better and faster by the end of 2010. This will mean customers will be able to do more with the network, in more places. The work throughout the UK (including London) has been going well and they are starting to work across the rest of the South of England from 14th December.
Here are some details in case you need them:
- The work will start in Reading and Newbury
- 3 will be in touch with all their customers in the areas where the work is happening to let them know about how their service may be affected
- All details of the latest work going on is here: www.three.co.uk/south
- You can sign up for free text alerts if needed www.three.co.uk/south
3 has told us that the service is only going to be affected for a short amount of time, usually no longer than 6 – 8 hours. Whilst each site is being worked on customers may experience some disruption to their service. This means that phone customers may notice a slight increase in dropped calls and Mobile Broadband users won’t be able to connect
If you have any questions or would like further advice please give us a shout. As ever, we’ll be collating questions to put to 3 and passing on any additional info we receive here.
