Last night at Bar Soho 3mobilebuzz and a few friends old and new met with 3 to try out MiFi, 3UK’s Mobile WiFi.
In attendance were @ukgadgeteer, @MIReview, @mseckington, @bensmithuk, @adonisdemon, @liamgh, @lloyddavis, @improbulus, @dancall, @cbetta and @reyes all of whom wasted no time in getting hands on with the MiFi and firing off questions. Answering the queries was David Kerrigan (@crinuboy), head of internet services at 3, who was also resident whiz when it came to demo-ing the MiFi capabilities.
For a look at the device see AdonisDemon’s post that refers to the device as “Smexy!” Lloyd also took a Qik video that takes in the atmosphere of the evening. However, for the the meaty stuff head to Ben Smith’s post at The Really Mobile Project – Battle of the MiFis… Round 1. There he’s got straight into it,
“Today, 3UK have announced their offering – available online on Thursday 17th and in stores the next day – The Huwei E5830. It’s available for ÂŁ69 with a rolling 1-month contract (ÂŁ15 for 5GB) or Pay-As-You-Go for ÂŁ99 with 3GB of pre-loaded data, valid for 3 months. I gave both devices the once-over for first impressions…”
Also getting into the details is @Ew4n at Mobile Industry Review with a video of him unboxing the device and setting it up.
With a few trials going on over the next few days there will be plenty more coming on the MiFi, all of which we’ll be covering here…
