This latest financial boost will certainly strengthen the music service’s position as “a potential challenger to the dominance of iTunes.”

Interesting stuff. Especially when news surfaced yesterday that there is rumoured to be a Spotify app arriving for 3UK. Electricpig got there first stating the “free music streaming service could be coming to 3 Mobile’s entire range of handsets.”

Ewan at Mobile Industry Review (MIR) has seen some demonstrations of Spotify Mobile and believes it to be a ‘compelling’ proposition to the consumer, “Would you swap to 3 to get Spotify Mobile? Potentially, I’m sure.”
