3 have launched a £0 per month SIM-only contract that will offer free Skype-to-Skype and instant messaging with no requirement to top-up.

SIM ZERO, besides offering the free stuff, will allow consumers to make regular calls at 20p per minute, send texts at 10p a time and serve you with data at 30p per MB. Trusted Reviews has quoted Andy Nuttall, head of 3’s Pay Monthly, on the tariff, “We want to challenge the market and change mobile forever, that’s why we are offering a UK first - a contract that costs nothing but gives you free calls forever with Skype.”
