Seen as one of the more historic national golf titles the Irish Open is set to be sponsored by 3 as an agreement has been signed between Ireland’s fastest growing network operator and The European Tour.

The agreement sees 3 as the title sponsor of the event for the next three years. Robert Finnegan, Chief executive of 3 Ireland, said, “3 is delighted to be supporting such a prestigious event - the Irish open is a real sleeping giant and we’re looking forward to bringing it back to its rightful place as one of the strongest tournaments in Europe.”

This year the trophy will be contested at County Louth Golf Club, Baltray, Drogheda, from May 14-17.
