Help installing 3 mobile broadband on Ubuntu 8.10

Written by SiD, 2 January, 2009Mobile Broadband

Can anyone offer some advice getting a 3 mobile broadband to work on Ubuntu 8.10?

Jo’Bo posted on LinuxQuestions.org that he’s having trouble getting his ZTE MF622 modem to work on the Intrepid Ibex version of Ubuntu. 3mobilebuzz stepped in to dish up some links to guides we found elsewhere, but has anyone got first-hand experience of this issue? If so, drop us a comment or follow this link to the original discussion.

If anybody hasn’t got it working now, it’s just a case of pluging either the e220 or 160g usb dongle (the only ones i’ve tried) into the usb port & up pops a box with configure the connection, follow the walkthough then click on 3 then next all the way then your good to go, i’ve done it & downloading with 3 in Manchester in the UK at 1meg a second, heheheheh
