Are you ready to Skype Out? 3 brings Skype-to-everyone calls to Skypephone
VoIP Watch gets understandably excited by the news that 3 will soon be allowing Skypephone users to make Skype Out calls to another network or landline. Currently Skype calling on the Skypephone is Skype-to-Skype only. 3’s new rates introduces calling packages, the most expensive of which costs £7.99 and allows users to call mobiles or landlines anywhere in the world via Skype.
As Andy from VoIP Watch says, “This is Huge…”
The industry’s premier Voice-over-IP blogger then goes on to talk more about 3’s ongoing commitment to reinventing what customers expect from a mobile service provider:
“3 is by far the mobile operator with the best grasp on where the market is heading. Their data plans are about the best deals around. Their marketing is crisp and message is easy to understand.”

SkypeOut works great on the Skypephone S2 it is brilliant. But does anyone has any thought if SkypeIn will be also active soon? It would be an excellent feature as I have one phone that could do everything. Receive phone calls wither through a land line or mobile number, plus return phone calls internationally through skype and using the mobile for local calls. There is no loss in there for 3. Do you think we ever see this feature or only the call forwarding will save the day for the time being or alternatively using the Wifi feature on my HTC touch?

Since when has SkypeOut worked on 3? This is really good news if it works now. I was thinking about leaving 3 after all the trouble I’ve had just to cancel an additional handset but if they’re doing SkypeOut I may just stay, but switch to Pay As You Go then I don’t have the nightmare of being hassled by some idiot when I’m trying to cancel the contract.
