3 Skypephone - the world’s best phone?

Christian Lindholm has declared that he believes that the 3 Skypephone is the world’s best phone. That’s quite a boast, and Christian sets out the key points of his argument early on before going into more depth.

Having used other mobile VoIP clients, he feels that the leaders in the field are too battery-intensive and despite there being no “magic” involved with the 3 Skypephone, “it is the total package that makes it interesting and revolutionary.”

Although he believes there are areas for improvement and the commercial success of the handset will be judged in 6 months time, that does not deter him from finishing by celebrating the device’s arrival, “Congrats to the Hutch and the Skype teams. Really good job guys!”

    with family in germany i was wondering if i made calls to them skype mobile to skype mobile would it be free

    I live in the UAE, but I travel all over the world.

    I want to call friends in the UK - if it was Skype mobile to Skype mobile would this be free no matter where I was?

    Hi David,

    The 3 Skypephone is not currently supported in Germany, so Skype mobile to Skype mobile is not possible. Using the 3 Skypephone to call from a supported region, such as the UK, to a Skype client tethered to a PC though is fully supported across the globe. Obviously, this also works vice versa.

    Basically though the answer is the same. Using the 3 Skypephone to make Skype to Skype calls is free, but the handset is only currently supported in certain territories, follow the link above for the full list.
