3 Skypephone - A week in the hands of Alan Williamson
Alan Williamson has posted ‘3 Skypephone - one week on‘ relaying how the device fared in a true in-the-field situation. Having been nothing if not dedicated to the cause of updating us on all his findings, Alan’s latest article serves as a summary of his trip to London (of which we have already heard snippets) and the major points arising while using the 3 Skypephone.
It is the Skype chat that really impresses Alan, describing it as a ‘great feature’ and one that he used during the laborious hours spent traveling by train. Also, high on Alan’s list of positives, was the ‘fantastic’ voice quality of his Skype conversations when he was in a full bar 3G network. Unfortunately though, there does have to be a down side, and in this case it was the option of making a video call despite the camera being positioned on the back of the 3 Skypephone - something he considers a design flaw. So you can make and receive video calls, but there’s no front-facing camera?
