At the hub of the 3mobilebuzz
It’s all happening across the net, but in the very hub of the 3 Mobile/Skype world, some of the nation’s online and mobile telecommunication experts have taken to the 29th floor of the Millbank Tower for the launch event.
And the result is, that they’re already excited! Over on Talk3g, Hands0n is posting from the event itself, and despite being a self-confessed Skype skeptic this morning, “45 minutes later and [he is] convinced.” He continues “3 and Skype are definitely on to something here. They have effectively turned Skype/3G into an Appliance - and what an appliance.”
Similarly 3GScottishUser and Ben are rather chipper about the appearance of their devices, the former describing himself as “really pleased so far”, whilst the latter has extended “two big thumbs up to Three/3mobilebuzz” – which is rather kind!
Meanwhile, the charmingly named Gerry Moth is excitedly anticipating playing with his devices and will update his thoughts on them extremely soon. We look forward to hearing them sir!

Had an initial play with the phone today, everything seems to be working fine, but I’m in a very good 3 signal area, so will only really test as I travel the country tomorrow. One thing I hated about the Skype for 3 app on my N73 was if I switched between a 3G and 2G network and I had Skype in Hide mode it wouldn’t tell me I was disconnected until I opened the app. So hope this new phone will always reconnect me.
My 10 year old loves the phone and when I told her she is getting the other phone as my 2nd tester she was over the moon. I decided to give to my daughter to see how easy the new phone is for kids to use and I think this is why I’d buy this phone. As a parent the one thing you dread is a kid running up a expensive mobile phone bill, so PAYG & £10pm is a winner.
